Education & Credentials.

First Class BSc (Hons) in Psychology from Goldsmiths College, University of London, 2010. (The UK collegiate system classifies their degrees. "First Class" is the UK equivalent of summa cum laude.)

MA in Psychology with Systems Counseling Specialization from LIOS Graduate College of Saybrook University, 2012.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) under credential LH60840567.

I am a PMH-C (Perinatal Mental Health Certified) through Postpartum Support International.

I am certified in traumatic grief through the MISS Foundation’s Compassionate Bereavement Care Certification Program (including Advanced Skills course).

I have been in private practice since 2012. Before launching my practice, and in its early period, I worked in community mental health in inpatient, outpatient, and school-based settings.

Clinical Style.

Stylistically, over the years I have come to firmly believe that one of my greatest assets as a therapist is my capacity to “be with.” Sometimes that means being with deep and overwhelming pain, while other times it means being with the joy and laughter of a close relationship. I treat therapy like a malleable space, where we co-create an energy and dynamic that offers support and transformation.

Bring me your suffering.
The rattle roar of broken bones.

Bring me the riot in your heart.
Angry, wild and raw.

Bring it all.
I am not afraid of the dark.
— Mia Hollow

My undergraduate education focused heavily on research psychology, with a particular focus on the neurobiology of behavior. My postgraduate education focused on using therapy as an expansive and creative space to meet people where they are and gently cultivate change. I work to weave together these approaches to create a clinical balance of insight and experience. My goal is to find you where you are and join you on your path, offering expertise and leadership around how to reduce your suffering.

Personally I am a mother of two, who has walked my own struggles with perinatal mental health. While my experience is only mine, I have firsthand insight into how deeply painful and isolating struggling with these issues can be. I love this work, and it is an honor to get to be a support and guide during such a significant part of my clients’ lives.

Supervision.

I provide Clinical Supervision to Associate therapists working toward full licensure. If you are interested in Clinical Supervision, inquire here. While I myself specialize in perinatal therapy, many of my supervisees are outside my specialty, and I am open to working with therapists in various areas of focus. If you are curious about supervision, please feel welcomed to schedule a 50-min consult for us to explore fit.
